Rosey the bookworm

papercut_prev
I’m a happy camper. It’s been a while since I bought books for myself and for this week alone I got two. Yayyy me! First off was the “elusive” Paper Cuts by Pam Pastor, whose blog entries are just made of awesome. I said elusive because it took me weeks before I can find a copy of it in National Bookstore. But the whole wait was worth it. Her experiences will have you wishing what it’s like to live her life. My favorite accounts were those about Inday. Oh what a riot it must be to have a househelp like her! I finished the book in one sitting, but I still read it from time to time. Somehow it actually motivates me to keep on blogging.

The second book I got is a chick-lit from Summit Books. Popped is basically a chronicle of what it’s like to be a K-Pop fangirl. And by fangirl I mean the extremes, such as (1) acquire any possible merchandise pertaining to the fandom you’re currently obsessing about; (2) travel to where your idols will be holding a concert, never mind the grand you’ll be forking just to breathe the same air as they do; and (3) obsessively go through every clip about them on YouTube or articles posted about them on the internet.

My friends, there’s a reason why this blog is called iamnofangirl. I can never do any of those things. I do not have the luxury of giving up my job and following the call of my fandom. I can never plan for a trip impulsively because I have a lot of other factors to consider. If only life were as simple like Andie’s (the book’s main character), huh?

Payback is just around the corner…

Part of me wishes that Kim Joon would just ditch T-Max and go start a drama career. I know it's a long shot since he is bound by a contract, not to mention that he and the guys go a long way back. What got me fuming was the fact that he was snubbed for a nomination during the recently concluded KBS Drama Awards. Really now, was Boys Over Flowers really all about the F3 only? Yoon Ji Ryun's destructive adaptation of the famous manga continues to haunt me until now.

Having a new drama is probably the only way that Kim Joon can rid himself of the stigma of being known as the "neglected F4". The guy has talent, and it's a shame that neither the PD or writer of BoF gave it due recognition. Now while the guy is still MIA, allow me to fawn over a new KPop idol we discovered... thanks to the drama You're Beautiful. Isn't Jung Yong Hwa a dream? Oh what I would give just to be in Moon Geun Young's shoes that moment. Haha!

Hi there, Prince Song!

I found these photos over at HYD Korea but credits should go those who (watermarked) originally uploaded them. Looks like the F4 guys (or Woo Bin and Yi Jung, for now) are going for a change in hairstyle when they get back from their Macau trip. Hmmm, I wonder how Ji Hoo would look like with no bangs?

OMG, Kim Joon sings!

Thanks to scentofyours from HYD Korea who first posted this video from minirion81 .

It's T-Max performing "Paradise" for a radio show. And because the BOF cast were currently on a break from filming, Kim Joon was able to join his groupmates for said guesting. He looks tired (notice the yawn?), he even sounds hoarse in those two lines he sang from the song. But those lines were still music to my ears. I guess I've finally found a new Asian heartthrob to fangirl after Ken Zhu in 2003.

Deadringer

No, that is not Katrina Halili.

Korean actress Han Chae Young (Sassy Girl Chun Hyang, Only You) joins the cast of Boys over Flowers in the special role of Min Seo Hyun. I can't wait to see this since I loved Meteor Garden and HYD so much. Now Korea's joining the bandwagon with their own adaptation of the famous manga. Hmmm, this better be good.

So, will the Philippines follow suit? Gawd, I hope not!
