JJ’s back!

It’s official. AJ Cook just confirmed via Twitter that she’s signed back on for Criminal Minds for not just one, but two years!

This comes as great news for fans who were devastated when she was let go at the earlier part of the season. JJ was an integral part of the team. Not having her around was like having a gaping hole that can never be filled by any replacement they bring on-board.

Now if only they can bring Emily Prentiss back as well. I can dream, right? ^___^

I miss Sweet Valley High! (the TV series)

Goodness, if that e-Book was the real deal… please tell me Francine Pascal didn’t write the epilogue for Sweet Valley Confidential? The writing felt like it was straight out of the world of fan fiction. But then again, I sort of loved the closure for the twins at the conclusion of the book. Almost Everyone gets their happy ending and I’m not complaining. Yes, I’m still buying the book once it’s released here. Just for posterity because I will always credit that series for being a huge part of my teenage years.

In the meantime, let me leave you with this video I saw in YouTube. Anyone here still remembers the Sweet Valley High TV series back in the 90s? I remembered it was shown here on ABC5 (now TV5) and I used to look forward to it every Wednesdays. (or was it Fridays?) Nah, my memory’s getting rusty.

I think I lost interest in the show after Todd was re-cast. Ryan Bittle will always be Todd Wilkins for me. Jeremy Garrett somehow never captured his charm when he joined the cast for the third and fourth (final) seasons of the show.

Fall Season TV returns!

As much as I hate to admit it, I can never swore off watching Criminal Minds. The show fostered my love for profiling people. Countless of times I wished we had a BAU in this country. I would gladly take my chances and apply for a position. This current season is bittersweet as this will be the last for AJ Cook and Paget Brewster. I will be missing JJ and Emily. There goes my Hotch/Prentiss dream down the drain! :(

Over the summer hiatus, my sister and I became converts of Modern Family. It reminds us of the same brand of humor we loved in Arrested Development. Sadly, the latter failed to captivate a wider fanbase after its first season. Steve Levitan and Chris Lloyd, on the other hand, did their homework well and came up with a winning combination of a great casting ensemble and effortlessly funny scripts. Now I'm a fan of Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara. It is their scenes I look forward to the most in every episode.

GLEE? Nah, I'd rather stay mum on the subject. Let's just say I still watch the show if only for Harry Shum and Jane Lynch. Now once they start hints of a Mike Chang/Quinn Fabray pairing... then they'll have me back hook, line and sinker. But it's just a fangirl's dream, much like how Dan/Blair is to Gossip Girl.

GOSSIP GIRL

I'm still on the look-out for reviews of new shows who are on its pilot season. So far Nikita's shaping up to be a favorite. Hellcats is not that bad although I still can't stand Aly Michalka. Ashley Tisdale, on the other hand, looks so much better as a brunette. Mindless shows like these help especially when all you want to do is relax after a stressful day at the work.

So what's on your TV viewing list these days?

Fangirl updates!

Xabi Alonso’s twitter account is now verified. Yayyy! Take that, doubters! ;) I sure hope he tweets more. And maybe just for once reply to my tweets as well? Haha! Yeah, we can dream.

News about La Furia Roja or Real Madrid allows me to unwind after a busy day at work. Right now I am starting to feel the demands of the job, but it’s nothing that I can’t handle so far. I love being busy. It makes me feel that I am doing something productive at work.

modernfamily

Oh, and here’s another reason for me to smile these days. Modern Family! :D Kudos to the show for winning Outstanding Comedy Series in the recently concluded Primetime Emmy awards. It was the most deserving of the bunch and I am happy it’s turning out to be a favorite of both critics and fans alike. It has gained the success that Arrested Development failed to sustain.

Camelot lives on…

Thank goodness for Sky Digital, there's a huge chance I will actually get to see the eight-part mini-series "The Kennedys" on cable TV next year. I'm excited because I have always been fascinated with the family's history eversince I read the The Kennedy Women and watched The Women of Camelot. They're like the Aquinos, only less controversial. (*cough*Kris Aquino*cough) Katie Holmes is playing Jacqueline Kennedy but I am far more intrigued with Greg Kinnear and Barry Pepper who are playing JFK and Robert F. Kennedy respectively.

Speaking of The Kennedys, I am still waiting for a paperback version of this book (not that it’ll ever arrive on Philippine shores) for my reading. Fully Booked and NBS only have this on hardbound copy! :( Birthday wishlist? Hehe!

Other Asian, FTW!

mikechangglee

Who rejoiced when they read this on their Twitter timeline? I did. Yayyy for Other Asian! Mike Chang deserves as much love as Santana and Brittany. It's about time Ryan Murphy realizes that. I am not jumping 'ship, however, after the revelation that the show would return with him dating Tina. Mike/Quinn remains to be my OTP in the series. Nevermind if it's AU. This is the GLEE universe after all. Anything can happen. :)

I never even knew they were dating…

From Just Jared:

Fringe co-stars Anna Torv (Special Agent Olivia Dunham) and Mark Valley (agent John Scott) went from on-screen lovers to both on-and-off-screen lovers after getting married last December.

Ha! Funny how shows bring about surprise hook-ups between its stars.

Random updates…

With the recent events this week, looks like 24 trumped Commander in Chief. Good luck, Mr. Obama. President Palmer would be proud.

Am I the only one excited to see Grant Show's stint as Addison's brother, Archer, on Private Practice? Boy, he sure looks good in the promo pictures. Thankfully, he ditched the porn 'stache he sported for Swingtown.

Ohhh, Kim Sam Soon as a US prime time series? Let's hope it won't be as disastrous as its Philippine adaptation.

Profiling at its best

I would like to thank my CTV angels for bringing me Criminal Minds earlier this week. That said, can I just say I totally enjoyed Catching Out? This definitely goes to my top episodes for the season. The unsub was pretty hard to recognize but once they pieced together a profile (Vortex Guy!) it was all a matter of time before he got caught. Emily speaking Spanish was cute though. That lady is talented! She's my new role model.

Big surprise when Morgan didn't get to save the day for a change. Good judgment on the writers' part. It was getting annoying how he turns up as the alpha male in every operation. Let Rossi, Reid and Hotch have their chance, man!

I nitpick for fun

Who knew there was actually a Center Stage 2? I loved the original movie and I don't think this can ever compare to it.

~

What's with Cathy Garcia-Molina and her fascination with wigs? In all but one of the movies she's done for Star Cinema, the lead girl is always seen sporting one. Does a wig or someone who wore one figure prominently in her past that she's decided to make it a running theme in her flicks? Wala lang, just an observation.

~

When will they ever air the third season of Criminal Minds? Studio 23 already had the second season finale last week and now they're doing re-runs of the first season for the nth time. Darn! They should be on FUSE too.

Desperate Housewives 5.04: BACK IN BUSINESS

For someone who can't stand Teri Hatcher, Susan was suprisingly less irritating in this episode. I loved her scenes with Mike and MJ (perhaps it's for the best that they stay divorced). Oh, and Jackson acts more like her oldest kid rather than a boyfriend.

I ♥ Juanita! I look forward to this little girl's antics each week.

One thing I'm not buying is Dave going after Mike. It's too convenient. Please, must the bad guys always be after Mr. Delfino?

Hey, it’s Ryan!

When I got home from work, my sister suprised me with the news that Ryan Lafferty (Walker) had been cast. Comments? Violent reactions? He actually reminds me of Matthew Gray Gubler. To be honest I was already sold on the Scott Porter idea that I feel for Michael Ausiello right now.

Oh, and speaking of Brothers & Sisters, looks like they're finally addressing the long-forgotten paternity of the twins. From Watch w/ Kristin...

Hilary in Portland, Ore.: What's coming up on Brothers & Sisters?
A Walker is dying! Dying—not dead—so don't start paying your condolences just yet. There's a liver failing, and a transplant needed, but the donated organ has to come from daddy. And naturally, this will be a Walker feller who didn't know he was a daddy. Who could it be? Your guesses go right down there in the comments.

My money's on Kevin. Just please don't let this turn out as another Three Dads, One Mom type of storyline.
